Q&A

What is your photography style? As you can see, my style is very emotionally charged. While I always have a strong focus on creating gorgeous portrait work, nothing captures my heart more than creating and capturing images with deep emotion. While I absolutely love creating that dramatic or romantic portrait of you and your love, it is that weepy look, the long laugh, or the longing side glance that fills my soul and sets my work apart.

How many weddings have you photographed?  I am probably sitting around 500 weddings.

Do you have any reviews online? I do! You can find plenty of reviews HERE and HERE

What do you shoot with? Only the best stuff 🙂 My digital equipment includes a Canon R6 and multiple lenses, flashes and back up gear.

Why should I care about having a second photographer? Well, to me this is a no brainer, but I get this question often. It’s another set of eyes, someone I have personally trained, to capture more moments for you. It’s also an emergency back up in case something were to ever happen to me on the way to the wedding. Redundancy is good. It’s that simple. My second shooters are all experienced, and trained well to work with me.

Can we do an engagement session? Of course! Take a look over my galleries, engagement sessions are the bomb. Not only do you get to spend an hour or two being all mushy together but you get to be mushy in front of me! C’mon, that’s awesome! 🙂 Oh, and you will get awesome images too for your Save the Dates, and it’s a great for you to get to know me before your big day.

Are you published? Indeed, I am a 2015 artist of the year for LooksLikeFilm.com & a Best of Weddings choice by The Knot.  My work has also been published on Trendy Bride, Lemonade and Lenses, Brides of Austin and Style Me Pretty. In addition to online publication, I have several magazine layouts in both The Knot and Brides of Austin.

And tell me about you…. I have been married to my sweetheart for 20 years, and we have three beautiful girls. When they aren’t busy commanding me around and I am not shooting, you can often find me reading and drinking coffee, or drinking coffee and reading, or just drinking coffee to go with my coffee. Mmmmm, coffee…. I also mentor with young kids in need of a father figure and it is something I dearly love doing.

Are albums available? Absolutely, as part of my third package and ala carte. You can order a book with me at any time after your wedding within the first three years. You can see a preview of what those albums look like on www.redtreealbums.com

What…. is the velocity of an unladen swallow? 42. Wait…that’s the answer to “What’s the meaning of life?”

Do you do your own editing and how many images can I expect? I do all my own editing, rather than send off to a third-party editor. Why? Because you are hiring ME, not someone else. And because I like to edit, and I like to make sure my style is consistent. On average, my clients receive anywhere between 65 to 100 images an hour.

Ok, what about pricing?  Yeah, I know. I probably should have put this one first, but would you have read everything else? 🙂 I know budgets are tight, and you might be despairing of finding a good photographer you can trust at the right price. With packages beginning at $2750 I am more than competitive in the Austin area. Feel free to contact me directly with details about your wedding and we can put together a price for you directly. timwatersphoto@gmail.com and 512-619-2941
